Specifically read the reviews relating to people who have had to have their car serviced by that Chevrolet Dealerships service department.
Heres what you’re looking for: reviews from verified service customers. See what they have to say about their service experience. Find out what they had done and if you can – find reviews from people with the same make/model car that you have that is getting serviced for a similar concern.
A word of caution here: if a review sounds completely unreasonable, use your better judgement. There are a TON of service related issues that are completely out of the service departments control. If someone had to wait weeks for the right parts, odds are that isnt on the Chevy Dealership- it probably has more to do with limited parts availability due to COVID. Also sometimes customers have unreasonable expectations for turnaround time on certain repairs. So if you read something to the effect of, waited to get my connecting rod bearings replaced, took all day, still not done –that person wasn’t being logical at all. They wasted an entire day waiting around for a job that requires major engine surgery and wouldnt be done in a single day even if the service department moonlights as a F1 pit crew.
However, if you are looking to have your Chevy serviced by a dealer and they have nothing but complaints about their service department- that probably isn’t a fluke. Dont waste your time and money. More importantly, dont put your vehicle at risk by taking it to a sub-par repair shop.
